This is Awhi, a newsletter about parenting disabled, medically fragile and/or neurodivergent children in Aotearoa.
Awhi is the newsletter of: Awhi Ngā Mātua, an online community for parents of disabled and medically fragile tamariki. Parents can join Awhi Ngā Mātua to ask questions, connect with other parents and find resources and information. It’s totally free and not-for-profit.
Awhi Ngā Mātua is a safe place created for parents, by parents. It’s a place to celebrate our incredible children, to find solidarity and support, and to be seen and heard by people who understand you and what you’re going through.
Awhi Ngā Mātua exists to empower parents of disabled children to support each other and lead positive change.
We’re on a mission to create a community of knowledge and support, led by parents for parents.
If you join our private online community you’ll connect with and awhi other parents who know what it’s like - you’ll be part of a movement. We will grow together as we learn together with the support of a powerful knowledge base that will help us to spark positive change as a community.
The Awhi newsletter will share stories and information from our community and allies giving insight to what our lives are like. It’s for everyone who cares about tamariki in Aoteaora.
